This is a shock, but bear in mind that Eck knows he will never ever receive a wins bonus nor a fat fee for achieving, say, a cup win or an unexpectedly high final league position and the poor fella has a wife and mortgage to support. Given his 2/3 track record, Faulkner shoulda offered him a bonus for avoiding relegation, though.

I reckon he gets a 10k bonus for a 0 0 draw

Faulkner out.

McLeish was facing a season in the Champ with no mone and disillusioned fans after his blood. No other PL club wanted his services.

A salary of a third of that would have been more than generous - where else was he going?

This is sickening. I can list 20 managers better than McLeish that we could have signed. The fact that by the end of his 3 year contract he would have cost us 9m in wages and compensation is ludicrous.

We seem to negotiate contracts in a fashion that seems to involve asking someone what they want, then doubling it to seal the deal.

The madness of it all, as if you could ever say he's one of the 30 best Managers in the world.

He should be paying us to be our manager I think.

My favourite manager working at the moment. If we sign him, I'd go mental with joy.

I wonder how it might have been if we'd had Maradona instead of Houllier.

The truly scary thing on that list is how many players at each club earn more.
30 yerars

My first thought. But players are on top money for 6-10 years at most. The ttop managers, such as Sir Alex and Wenger, have been/will be there for 30ish years. Still a silly amount for managing 30 people in what are, by most industrial/commercial comparisons, medium sized companies at best.
