I've got a great idea for the post-signing photocall. Instead of holding up scarves, get them to dress up as sausages and jump out of a frying pan and into a huge fire in the VP centre circle

Been lolling at this for a minute or so now.

Can't see Davis being released from his contract. He is a club asset, under contract and one of the few players they could sell on in the summer. I'm afraid we are more likely to get the tea lady on a free........

She can't be any worse than Hutton at full back...

She might get a bit closer to opposition forwards in the box.

Whittaker can play both full back positions can't he? Always looked o.k for Scotland...mind you so did Hutton!

Whittaker is shit.

Davis was a Fulham sub last time I seriously paid attention to him. A Fulham sub and a starter at Rangers is about par right? Would prefer Fulham's new midfield sub Mo Diarra in that case.

Not sure why some people are being sniffy about him. He was POTY in DOL's team and this one isn't much much better, in fact the midfield is arguably worse

Would take him as a squad player... but he wont be a squad player, he'll likely be Stephen Irelands replacement.

A better player than some people on here give him credit for.

A good pass, good pace, good footballer. The only reason why MON got rid of him was because he said he was'nt big enough. That mentality has now changed.I always thought Steven Davis could become a Scholesy kind of player. He has it in him to be a good player.

On a free its a no brainer to me.

So what was Uncle Woys reason for getting shot from Fulham considering he had less chance to be swayed by English ways of coaching.

Not sure Davis is any better than Bannan.  Can be quite anonymous at times.  I don't think he'd actually add anything to the squad other than being another option.

bannon's done nowt of note. He certainly won't win POTY this season -all our youngsters are untried and to be fair they're probably being put in the deep end but they haven't looked any great shakes to me so far. Herd's been about the best IMO but i can't seeing the rest being upto the mark for a good year or 2 yet if ever

He peaked that year and has gone on to do little at a decent level since.

You're right, our midfield is bereft of experience but I'd rather stick with Herd/Gardner/Clark.

I'd worry that the trend of McLeish buying his dodgy old players having started with Hutton will continue.

Keane will... this depresses me.

He also deserves it.... Which depresses me even more.

Please no more players from the SPL, things are wank enough as they are.

Although it would not be the disasterous move people are making out, I can't see it happening and the reports this morning suggest that some kind of deal may be reached to secure the wage drop needed.

Sums it up for me.  Why cant we get cheap players from elsewhere?  Other clubs seem to manage it and end up with some decent player.  Do we have any kind of scouting network?  I'm beginning to doubt it.
