Friday, as usual. Didnt win a sausage last year, but the previous two years I took home more than I went with after food drinks and gambling all day, so can't complain.

Looking forward to it

Oh great, its horse torturing time again in 'Nam.

This so-called sport should be banned.

Animal should not suffer for the entertainment of humans.

Friday for me as well. Someone was offering up tips on here last year for the whole meet which provided me with a bit of ammo for the day, so I'm happy to do an Acorns/me 50/50 split if anyone sees themselves as a bit of a tipster this year and wants to play with say £100 worth of stake. No tears from me if it goes wrong of course.

My antepost bets so far:

Sprinter Sacre @ 6/4 in The Arkle
Riverside Theater @ 9.4 in The Ryanair Chase
Invictus @ 12/1 in The RSA Chase

For anyone who doesn't have a Stan James account, you can sign up and get 2/1 on Sprinter Sacre in The Arkle, which is a fantastic price given that Don McCain says that Peddlars Cross is doubtful to go to The Arkle. In addition to this, Paddy Power are refunding all losing bets on The Arkle if Sprinter Sacre wins, up to £100/€100. You could back SS with Stan James and put some savers on with Paddy Power backing say Al Ferof (7/2) and/or Cue Card (7/1). I think Sacres going to bolt up in The Arkle so I'm all in on him, however.

I'm a bit gutted that Kauto is only 50/50 for The Gold Cup. I've never been to Cheltenham s I was looking forward to seeing the old boy in the flesh. I can't imagine they'll race him if he's only 50/50 at this point, unless they think he's fit enough and the place money is worth going for. Ruby Walsh has said today if he does go he'll be confident, but I won't be backing him if he does. Might have a look at Burton Port (7/1) and Midnight Chase (14/1) to oppose Long Run, who will be a massive favourite and surely likely winner without Kauto. Will be very interesting if they decide to run Grand Crus in it though.

I really hope kauto Star recovers to do himself justice in the Gold Cup. Best horse of the last few decades.

The best week of the year is nearly upon us and I can't bloody well wait. I'll be there the whole week. Had a few nibbles on the antepost markets so far:

Colour Squadron e/w @ 16/1 - Supreme
Cue Card e/w @ 8/1 - Arkle
Rock on Ruby e/w @ 14/1 - Champ Hurdle
Oscars Well e/w @ 12/1 - Champ Hurdle
For Non Stop e/w @ 8/1 - Jewson

Also chucked a couple of quid at Medermit for the Gold Cup @ 60 on Betfair as I have a suspicion they'll go for this instead of the Ryanair and he'll be more like 14s on the day if he lined up.

I'd happily take a losing week though if the mighty Kauto turned up and did it again.
