Just how unlucky can we get Alex McL? Nothing but nothing seems to be going our way! Looks like pack the defence with Heskey the lone midfielder.

If anything, I feel more sorry for him. It looked like he might finally get a tournament playing for England, then Fabio went, it looks like 'arry will have the job (and so not pick Bent) and now this injury. Tough luck.

Have we seen his last appearance in a Villa shirt?

If he has any hopes of playing for England or in Europe again, probably.

Sadly, after the last couple of years, I think the only players who won't be looking for new clubs are the lazy overpaid twats who are happy to coast along and pick up their obscene wages that no other clubs would match, and the few who love the club, like Gabby.

If you were Bent, would you want to stay? I bloody wouldn't.

It's not luck, it's football. You get injuries.

For the vast majority of this season our manager has had the entire squad to choose from and still had us playing utter shite. Now injuries have hit, we will no doubt continue to play utter shite.

Gabby upfront, Ireland behind, Nzogbia and Albrighton on the wings is still a more than capable strike force. Though I expect we will see Heskey shoe horned into the line up  ::)

We should sue Whelan for this. Allowing rugby to be played on a PL pitch is asking for trouble - and now we've seen the consequences.

I can't see that it makes that much difference. If the manager persists with his cowardly approach changes in personel are irrelevant.

Agree 100%. His impact, through no fault of his own, has been minimal this season.

Cometh the hour, cometh the Kaiser. He owes me a hat-trick from the Wigan game.

Yet he has still scored a third of our goals.

Yep.  It's obviously shit news but in many ways it allows us to play a more balanced team, even if our most valuable player is not included.

---------------------Gabby----------------------
----Nzogbia--------Ireland-------Albrighton--

This arguably plays every player in their strongest position.  Below that there is also the opportunity to introduce a few youngsters.

Gabby > Weimann (also Heskey)
Ireland > Bannan/Gardner
Nzog/Albrighton > Johnson/Grelish

I'm actually quite excited by the prospect.  It gives the Club the opportunity to play these players without any blame being assigned if it goes wrong.

I agree.

Back to Gabby up top with Ireland behind. Much more balanced.

Couldn't have been Heskey or Warnock. It just had to be Darren.
