It must be true then.

They probably didn't bother to change the details at Companies House.
Is he still a NED? If he is, is he still taking a salary? I'd be genuinely interested to know, considering we are cutting costs.
The General became president of a college in Birmingham, AL called (appropriately enough) Birmingham-Southern College. The previous president left the school's finances in an extremely precarious state and it takes all of the General's time just to manage this issue. This is no exaggeration as he has to travel to many different places, often 8-10 hour round trips by car, to speak to alumni groups and prospective students to encourage the former to give and the latter to attend. He enjoys it a great deal, but his time has become quite limited. The timing of his departure had everything to do with this issue (he began his duties on 01 JUN 11), but it would also be fair to note that there was a certain recognition that the conversation had reached a point where it had become, from his perspective (and he was not alone, I daresay), comparatively unproductive and not the best use of his time given the exigencies of his current position. He is still on the board (as far as I know; I have not asked and he has not told me otherwise), pays extremely close attention to the Villa, and talks with Randy frequently. He also has me bitching in his ear on a weekly basis, but that is a different matter altogether... :-)
