Good read, Dave.

My fear now, with Dunne out for 2 months, Clark out for a month, is Heskey is brought in as an emergency centre half.

I think the defense will be Hutton, Collins, Cuellar & Warnock.

As tight as the happy mondays playing their most baggy tracks from their back catalogue whilst high on meth amphetamine and glue.

Think Baker will (should) get in ahead of Warnock

Heaven forbid!

There were a lot of wft in the lions club when it was announced he was in the starting line up yesterday.

I'm glad I wasn't in the middle of all those Silent but deadlies as sphincters loosened at the thought of starting Heskey. Mine was more of a praaarrpp when I heard.

I hope this makeshift defense can handle the upcoming bottom table opposition. If we lose any of our next three I'll be pretty upset. That being said, our defense has been pretty bad all year and no matter the personnel back there I don't expect there to be much of an improvement, but what does need to be ramped up is McLeish's team sheet for Wigan. Play the right players, in their right position and let's roll. I'm nervous McLeish is going to become even more defensive minded with this uncertain back four. And I don't think Dunne will be out for the full 2 months, he's a horse and I expect him back in 6 weeks.

Heskey looked more like a defensive midfielder than a winger . Sad times

No doubt about it, he was a 5th defender.

However what needs addressing is pretty much what now..? With Clark and Dunne out can Hutton, Cuellar, Collins and Warnock win us games? My mentality is our already bad defense essentially just got worse, so now we NEED to score goals.. lets get on the front foot and make up for our defensive mistakes. You can't win if you don't score Eck.

He did seem to be covering Huttton at right back most of the time. It was horrible to watch.

I take it that you all think Heskey is crap because he used to play for Blues?

the bit where Dave says that Mcliesh doesnt help himself with his team selections is spot on,
in fact as DW says he seems to go out of his way to do the very things that will bring even more criticism on himself, and thats something i really dont understand.

he know's how he is percieved, not just at VP but generally by football supporters, even those who are ready to support him must at times be pulling there hair out with some of the tactics and subs,

i thought he might be here for a long while come rain or shine, because he's randy's man, but i really dont think its working and there are now to many obsticals in the way for him to negotiate and can only see him falling, probably within 12 months

I think its more a case of he played for the blues because he was crap, rather than any post-blues side effects rubbing off on him.

Strange isn't it, Heskey can be derided on the basis that we've all watched him and he's done little to suggest he's of the required standard, do the same about McLeish and it must be because he used to manage SHA.

mental frankly. If AM gets the shove it will be on current managerial performance rather than what he did at SHA, Just like he wasn't appointed for what he did at blose. (I hope!)
