Apologies if this has been posted before, but it's the first I've heard of it. Can't help but wonder why on earth someone like him would be hired, reeks of incompetence to me, and I'm by no means one of the doom and gloom brigade.

So you are an expert on the coaching abilities of the north-east lad who started at Villa before becoming a regular at Scarborough and Watford (where surely most people will remember him from?) before playing just a handful of games for Blues?
You must be, you have called it incompetence that we have hired him.

Animotion had a song for the likes of you.

Paul Tait would definitely have to wear a disguise. In fact, he should have worn one to the League Cup game last year, then he might not have got his arm broken by somebody wielding a road sign. Not that I'm condoning such behaviour. It was very wrong indeed.

Yes, that was very... erm, unsavoury.

Sheesh, I only wanted to communicate the fact he'd been hired. I've heard him on a lot of phone ins and he seemed a bit of knob. Compared to some of the people we could have hired, Mooney seems a very peculiar choice. He wasn't a very good player and doesn't seem like a very nice bloke, so it seems that it's an unusual choice.  I didn't expect to be made out to be some kind of obsessive idiot for making my opinion known. Infact, I didn't even refer to his Blues past, strange.

Why are we meant to hate him? I've never heard of him before and it's not like he's a Paul Tait type figure. He's just some random Joe who used to play for them.

His appointment would have been made by Bryan Jones who is head of our Academy, a man that also has a history with the Rags but he's never let it get in the way of doing a fantastic job.

Strange thread to me-an ex Villa trainee-he was groomed at the club and had a solid scoring record.  He was gutted to be let go too-(he lodged at with one of my family). Ron Atkinson was in the same boat-big deal.
