I like what they've done there.

Twitter isn't for everyone, but I really like it and I've never liked any other social network like Facebook etc.

As much as I welcome the idea of breaking down the barrier between players and fans, I'm always concerned that one of them's gonna say something stupid and embarrass the club.

But since Super Marc got twitter I reckon my respect for him as a person's gone up, he seems to genuinely enjoy playing for the Villa, and also comes across as quiet humble, and grateful for the luck he has to be working in such a trade.

Agreed. I.E. Joey bleedin' Barton. Leaving his other baggage aside, if I was a QPR fan I'd cringe almost every time he tweets.

Most people are dull.  99% of footballers are dull. I really don't understand twitter or facebook for that matter because you're just finding out about how dull people spend their lives. Do people find celebrities that interesting? A Mate of mine was rushed into hospital with pneumonia the other day and he locked down his facebook and twitter sites and i thought well nearly dying is a bit more interesting than pictures of his bird and the dog and his views on john terry losing the england captaincy.  Perhaps if he'd have kept on-line during the doctor's diagnosis via his phone he would have doubled his followers and have a few more celebrity friends ( though i heard Kate Lawler was concerned). Obviously this will appeal to some dullards who find other slightly more famous dullards interesting, but for the rest of us.

meh.

I would have no idea how to actually use twitter. It is interesting to see how ordinary our players appear to be in comparison to quotes from the Barton's and other simpleton footballers on the twitter site. I'd rather they won a game though-our players that is!!

I think if our players are going to spend time tapping away at a computer to give fans a tour through the thoughts processes of their brain, they should be doing it through the medium of an internet fanzine site. Perhaps a fanzine site with a reputation for having an intellectual, erudite, educated and well informed group of supporters.

Without wishing to come across as a Damon Green groupie, you should check out his tweets if you haven’t already, they’re very funny.

Is it just me that finds Twitter incredibly difficult to follow? All these hash tags, retweets and the general layout I find it really difficult to see who's actually written the message.

Facebook isn't perfect with its data protection issues and the hideous timeline they're bringing in but I find it much more easier to read and navigate.

Same here. I don't 'get' Twitter at all, but I can cope with FB.
