Time to bring in the kids?
« on: February 01, 2012, 04:10:12 PM »
Ok I would say nothing to play for this season,we have no money so its time to see how good our kids are.
I would start by bringing them into the defence and go from there.
They couldn't do any worse.
Big Eck's Babes anyone.

We are pretty much doing this anyway, I doubt theres a club in the country that has had a percentage of acadamy graduates representing the first team that is higher than what we have this season.

I'd like to see the kids involved. However, don't think starting from the back would be the best idea!!

We have a rock solid defence at the moment.

Lichaj in for Hutton would be a start.  It wouldn't be a massive improvement but would bring some improvement.

Big Eck's Babes anyone.

Babes has Man U connotations.

We say Minors in these parts. McLeish Minors.

Admittedly when I was thinking of 'the kids', I was thinking more of players like Derrick Williams, Samir Carruthers etc. In all fairness, I do think Clark, Baker & Lichaj could do a job but that would have to be a gradual thing.

Carruthers is in the squad tonight.

As Derrick Williams will be as well I'd expect. However, he won't be playing as it is far too soon for most of the generation coming through.

Well Samir Carruthers tweeted excitedly yesterday that he's training with the first team today "With the first team tomorrow against QPR!!! Dreams can come true.. so happy right about now"

You see first XI? It's a dream to just be involved with Villa.

He obviously meant training with the first XI. Good attitude.

It's time to put Eric and Edna in for sure, no doubt. Eric can do a job, we don't know about Edna but let's find out, look who he'll be replacing!
