Shaun Teale is a Villa legend and even minutes after he wakes after surgery he would not concede from a corner as readily as the current overpaid incumbents.

Good luck Shaun Teale. Never forget that header v Tranmere. The last Great Day of the Holte.
I even went to see him play v That Lot at the Sty for Tranmere after he left (Villa were away v QPR I think). Wish he was 20 years younger and still donning the Claret and Blue. All the best.

Good on yer Shaun and thanks for the memories.

He should have been our player of the year the season he signed for us, 91/92 I think.  I told Ron Atkinson too at a players forum.  It went to McGod and Froggatt got the Young Player but I'd had a few and told Big Ron he should have given it to Teale (as we expected little and recieved a lot) and Yorke (who'd been brilliant but not had many starts after Xmas).

Terrific player and still the biggest thighs of seen on a professional footballer.

One of my villa faves when I was a youngster, I can remember meeting him when I went on one of the villa soccer schools things in Tamworth up at quems, still got my picture with him somewhere. They don't make defenders like Teale anymore. Plus He had a great 'tache (soemthing missing in the modern game)

Hope everything goes well Shaun

Shaun Teale was hard as nails. Not dirty hard, just genuinely hard. And a very good defender too. His partnership with McGrath was right up there with Evans and McNaught. He will probably turn down the offer of anesthetic for the op. Get well soon.
