I noticed a few left of flares or the smoke thingys (ala Prague) as the teams came out.
I remember Prague, plenty of dickheads there.

I was there for a start. I'm a right knobhead.

Bizarre. This is news to me.

3 of us went down early morning from new st, drank in the city centre and walked it all the way to and from the ground. Didnt get one hint of trouble or aggro whatsoever.

Thought it was a good day besides missing the last train back!

I was the only one that the locals could understand

Went walking down the Witton Lane one dark and dusky day,
I spied a poor City fan a-running far away.
I said to that poor City fan "It's time for you to die".
He said "Yes I know sir - Holte Enders in the sky".

He ran down the terraces and fell towards the gate,
Little did he know that death was sure to be his fate,
He had one more short hour to live and then he'd hear the cry
That ev'ry City fan does fear - Holte Enders in the sky.

Their fists were just like granite and their pockets lined with lead,
And if they catch a City fan he's sure to wind up dead.
Cuz Villa fans rule Birmingham and City fans know why,
Cuz they have seen the glory of...
Holte Enders in the sky.

Yippee-eye-ayyyy, yippee-eye-oooohhhh

 Holte Enders in the sky.

Thanks for that! How about us all singing the whole lot tomorrow against Everton?

My mate got headbutted outside a chippy on the high street by the ground after the game. 100% unprovoked. The bloke walked past, heard our accents (no colours on), stopped and said "wheres your boys then", dropped the nut and his mate dragged him away. Nutters, we'd only stopped for some chips.

I didn't see or hear of any trouble. I got to Bristol at about 2pm and went to the Wellington. Then went back there after the game and didn't have any problem with their fans.

There was always trouble down there in the 70s. I remember a huge wurzel walking alongside the mob from The Special shouting BERRRRRISTERRRRRRL. Nobody went near him. I think they were wary of what he might be hiding in his beard.

having just clicked on your you tube link,
i found out that the original version of Ghostriders was by Burl Ives in 1948, which i never knew, always thought it was Johnny Cash.
also if you google 'ghostriders in the sky' and look at the Wiki page, it tells you the whole history of the song, but more importantly the Holte End gets a mention as the song is our terrace chant.
so there you go

Good work. How many times have you tried singing the words to that instrumental ?

My advice, don't make the same mistake as I did by listening to the Tom Jones version!
