Yes he tried his best, but as soon as the chance came he was off like a rat off a sinking ship. Shit off Downing.

He's in a better place professionally now though isn't he? Who wouldn't want to leave this circus at the moment?

That he might be but that's not the point.

We signed him when he was injured and needed a way out of the Smoggies, we paid a heck of a lot for him considering.  I still believe he's one of the most over rated players in the Division and only really had one decent season for us, not brilliant just decent.  He then left as soon as he could after saying for weeks he had no interest in a move and actually owed us.

Honestly, what did he really expect.  Still atleast we robbed the Dippers blind when they signed him - should that money ever be re-invested.

That's saved me some typing.  Spot on.

Twat. I didn't think he could possibly sink any lower in my estimation but fair play he's only gone and done it. I hope he breaks his fucking leg

Tool - indicative of the out of touch, over rated over paid ponces that are far too numerous in the game

I hope at some point soon someone takes him knee high, and he does not then play for a long, long, long time, as he is a total halfwit.

Of course and in one sense yes, foolish to deny it. However, when the bindippers finish 5th or 6th or whatever, Suarez wants to leave for CL football and Gerrard finally bows out, they will probably just end up as the best of the rest of the Premier League, playing in the Europa League with the odd cup run. And Downing's next move will be a backward one, he is only going to go downhill from now so take some solace from that. He will soon be forgotten...

Oh how I wish it had been.

As for Downing, he's going down in history.

In the case of Barry, Young and Milner, they had all given us good service. Even delaying their exits.

True they went for the money and who can blame them.

Downing owed us for supporting him through his injury problems. He was starting to play well last season after all the effort our backroom staff put in - then at the first opportunity he pissed off.

He deserved every boo, hiss and rude word he got yesterday. To complain to the press shows what a complete arsehole he really is.

The bin dippers will drop him when they can find a replacement.

And there is the joy of living on Merseyside and having your house burgled!

Not a problem these days - it used to happen when they were away in the Champions League.
