How high will the dead black cat bounce?

Not very high.   Sunderland may scrape a few points here and there but I believe they have a Judas in their midst not a Messiah.

I mean to ask the question more about Sunderland than O'Neill.   I have a lot of respect for Sunderland they are a proper football club with proper football fans.   I have no respect for O'Neill and they will be disappointed when he fails to live up to all the hype.

Indeed. I wish Sunderland no ill will and it makes me a little sad to be pleased to see them in this predicament as there are far worthier recipents of my ire but there you go.

Why do people still find the time to blather on about Martin O'Neill. Get over it. Move on.

My answer to the question - who cares?  And what if Sunderland do get dissapointed?  They'll get over it.

Sorry, that's my prediction of when we will finally have a calendar month without a thread started about MON.

You think this is bad. In the pre-internet world we went about forty H&Vs mentioning BFR after he got sacked.

I know, I bought most if not all of them!
Wish I knew where a lot of my old H&V were. I'd love to know for sure when I started buying it. Earliest cover I clearly remember had a cartoon of Ugo on the cover pushing a couple of defenders out the way and saying something like, "first there was McGrath, now comes Ugo". But I had been buying it a while before then.

McGrath bless the internet. Didn't take long to find an image of it. I was sort of close with the wording.
I reckon it was about 10 issues before this that I properly discovered fanzines and started buying the various Villa fanzines.
