To be honest, as long as it looks good, is of high quality and is on sale in the club shop promptly rather than in November then I don't care who makes it.

All of these things seem to have proved beyond Nike so IMO any change is good change.

Yeah, I've not been overly impressed with the kits over the last few years. For me the acorns kit with the round collar was the best by far. Everythig else has been so poor. You can tell Nike have bigger teams to look after. We're always the after thought.

Nike have been nothing short of a disgrace

I just looked on their website:

http://store.nike.com/gb/en_gb/?l=shop,search&searchList=aston%20villa

CLUB TEAMS
Barcelona
Manchester United
Arsenal
Juventus
Inter Milan
FC Porto
Atletico Madrid
Celtic
Hertha
Boca Juniors
Paris Saint-Germain
PSV Eindhoven
FC Spartak
Werder
Galatasaray
FC Zenit

We are not even under the list of football teams

I wonder if this is Nike's fault or our own for not pushing this type of promotion when we struck up the deal?  I know we can be our own worst enemies for playing down Villa's status and size in the scheme of things, but I'm pretty sure we have a profile at least as big as many of those clubs?  The Lerner era's commercial department has been a vast improvement on Doug's BUT I reckon they still underestimate the potential of the "brand".  More vision and commercial nous would solve this.

I love Adidas kits. And would love Adidas to make ours. Just can't see them interested in us.

I was in the shop yesterday and asked the fella behind the counter if we were sticking with Nike and he said probably not but they are the last to know, he also said the fans will know when the sale starts with all the Nike stuff.

I think Nike don't do enough for us, they stuff they do have at the shop seems to be almost knock off, almost like the Villa have a load of poor stuff made and then get the Nike logo added to it, but I am sure that isn't the case ;)

If we all got our knitting needles out, we might even have replica ones ready in time for the start of next season.

Exactly. Why do they need another second rate midlands club? *wink*

Given the current state of affairs who cares which factory in the far east makes the shirts?

Is the correct answer.  Whoever supplies our kit, ultimately all they are doing is tempting the gullible to part with £50 for a couple of square metres of cheap polyester sewn together in a Far East sweat shop at a cost to them of tuppence ha'penny... and then make some design alterations and do in all over again in 12 months time.
