Bloody hell, there could be some truth to this rumour. He's written on his Facebook page that he's on his way to Birmingham. The President of the Players Union has just been interviewed on TV about the story, I think there must be some problem with the player and Sporting after UEFA refused to accept his transfer to Nice, claiming it was after the deadline. The value in the summer was €4.5m.

Since then he's neither played for Sporting or Nice. It appears he'll be on his way to B6 in the next week or two.

Is he any good then, Mark?

Just checked his Facebook page and he wrote from his mobile two hours ago, "Go to Aston Villa".

He looks a bit like Nani. Unfortunately he's not Nani.

I wonder if we're sending N'Zogbia to Nice on loan as part of the deal.

I too was wondering whether this deal would have an impact on his position.

If that's the case, then surely the board would want some sort of permanent deal? They just lashed out 10 big ones of money they don't have. Nothing surprises me in football, but you have to believe that after Ireland not working out, they're going to want to get money first and up front in every transaction.

If it is true, does that mean Albrighton doesn't come into Mccleishs plans?

N'Zog has been very disappointing so far but it's very early days, I'd be astounded if we giving up on him so quickly.

Personally, I hope there's no truth in it at all. He'll come good.

As a loan then it's a good move especially if the terms of any transfer are agreed.
If nothing else it shows some imagination from the club.

N'Zogbia is a better Right Winger. I think Djalo plays as a striker or on the left wing.

It doesn't make alot of sense to me, short-term, although there may be longer-term benefits (next season).
We have wingers; we have attackers; we have attacking midfielders (over and above Emule!).
We lack footballing Centre Backs; the key problem with our current set-up and performances.

Unless there is a plan to offload Bent - thereafter using Gabby as the central striker with Djalo and N'Zogbia as support-attackers - this is a distraction. If Bent is going in January, then there better be a large amount of wonga coming in and some pretty convincing rationale.

So far we've written off Bent, N'Zogbia and Albrighton on the basis of a rumoured short-term loan signing.

I suppose it must be that because it's obvious we don't need to add creativity, strengthen the squad or provide competition for places and none of our players ever get injured or suspended.
