Can there be a similar protest in January when Randy doesn't spend the GDP of a small country on a solid player and pay him more than what we make in a year to play for one week?

Because somehow that ALSO gets people mad...

Man Utd won't cooperate with this. The glory hunters are quite happy with things the way they are . Good idea, different game

That surprises me. Over the years Manchester United supporters have usually been very pro-active in supporter protests.

Take a look at the away fans that follow Newton Heath and the ones that frequent Old Trafford, the difference couldn't be more stark. They will probably agree with the protest but will refuse to take part 'cos they didn't think of it first.

I always got the impression that Man U fans were quite happy with the unlevel playing field .Saying that I don't think I know a single Man U fan that comes from Manchester

I don't normally say anything for the first five minutes anyway - it's usually about ten before I start moaning when a professional footballer earning an obscene amount of money fails to control a ball or misplaces a ten-yard pass.

So count me in!

Hang on though... can I still tut when the kick-off is hit straight out of play?

I'm not sure on this. I don't know if it will work and for this game I'd like to see a full VP right behind the team from start to finish.

I'm against this idea but haven't yet come up with the right words for a full post.

Maybe when I wake up a bit more

If you dont like modern football , then dont pay for tickets to watch it.

Protests & banners will do nothing.

Oh & cancel your Sky Subscription .

That's the spirit.

As we are likely to be a goal or two down by the five minute mark there may not be a lot to shout about anyway.
Having said that I think it's a good initiative and I saw something similar was done pretty effectively in a recent Stockholm derby. If it worked it would be interesting to see how Sky and the rest of the media reported on it.

Seems a bit pointless to me. It's not going to persuade any clubs to lower prices or convince the FA/PL not to run the league as a money making exercise. But fair play for at least attempting something.
