Bias press
« on: November 07, 2011, 09:52:13 AM »
I am not suggesting we are ripping up any trees at present but contrast that with the shit spouted about King Kenny's Anfield revolution and it boils my piss

For all the money he has spent i would be expecting a much better return

Henderson - £20mil - hardly getting a regular game
Downing - £20 million - hardly ripping up trees
Carrol - £35 mil - laughable
Adams - a poor mans Barry @ £9.5 mil

I am sure the media and our own fans would be spitting blood if AM had spunked that much on those players with the poor return they have had

Henderson is Lee Hendrie the second.
Downing is never worth £20mil, he had half a good season in a very poor Villa side.
Carroll? Only priced at that price because of deadline day, Torres money and because he's English. He's probably no better than Dion Dublin was.
Adam, interesting one. Was a good player in a very attacking team last season. Different role for him this season.

The latest scapegoat if you are to believe the scousers....

My biggest beef with im is that he's a squad player when we needed a match-winner. He's a good player and he brings us something different but on current form he's woeful and why he's getting the nod ahead of Maxi, Bellamy and Downing is completely beyond me. For all the good he does, he's just not a game changer. I mean can anyone honestly say that if we were a goal down, playing averagely and were to bring on Downing that you'd feel a boost in moral and a new-found belief we might just win it.

I'm glad it's working out so well for the weasel.

Couldnt care less what they do or dont do, apart from when they play us, or how the media treat them.
Do we get a raw deal off the national media ? You hear fans from lots of clubs saying they do not get the attention they deserve. I never hear fans from anywhere saying they are getting more media attention than deserve.

I'm confused.  If they're talking about Downing, how can he get the nod ahead of himself?

Why. Why get so upset about the press. In '94 ManUre were dead certs for a treble. We were given NO chance. did I give a feck...Not really 'cos it helped the odds go up on a Villa win, (I also got score correct). the press don't give a feck about Villa and midland clubs in general unless it's negative - relegation.

Thats just one example of many i could give you.

Here's one from one of their forums after Saturdays game.........

Shit again. Consistent in his 1 good cross per game tho.

Thing is about him, i don't see him improving. Cos before he joined us i thought he was absolute shit. So i have no reason to believe he will improve.

20m down the drain. Could of bought 3 good players from abroad at that pirce. We already got Carroled, why get Carrolled again in the summer with Downing and Henderson. Ridiculous.

Have to admit i found the Carrol fee hilarious. 35m for basically the 2011 version of Mark Hately is pushing it. It sort of got lost in the fuss over the Torres fee and his lack of goals but i notice Torres has now managed more goals than Carrol has since his transfer

Although I go along with the whole 'who gives a fuck?' thought process on this one, I do wonder what the reaction would be, both from the fans and media, had Roy Hodgson made those signings at those fees.
