like the amazing left winger Pilkington, the gifted left back Tierney, the reliable defender Russel Martin (that can play either full back or central defenders), or two solid players like midfielder Fox and central forward Morison.

Ruel Fox? Just like in '92/93 when us and the Canaries ripped up the league...halcyon days. Mind you they did the double over us didn't they? What might have been...And they ended up third with a negative goal difference. Classy Canaries.

I wouldn't say it's too early. Norwich has had back to back promotions under him. They're currently sitting top half of the table. His team can pass well, look very structured and composed. They actually look too good to go down under his tactics. Great manager.

I'm not looking forward to playing them at all. I think this will be the game where every self respecting Vlla fan will want McLeish out ASAP when Lambert's team get a comfortable win at Villa Park.

Are you incapable of posting without droning on about wanting McLeish out?

You seem to actively want us to lose games.

2 wins out of 9. And we haven't played Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham yet. He is a diabloical manager.  There's no excuses for him.

I don't want us to lose games. I just know McLeish isn't good enough to get us the results we need and can admit it. He hasn't warranted any backing this season. The results overall have been fairly poor along with shambolic performances. He can't even organise our defence that well. The only reason we appear better defensively is thanks to Given who should get the credit. Oh and apart from Given, the summer purchases were horrific. Can't stand the man because he knows he is out of his depth, but his wages have increased so he is going with the flow at the expense of our club.  Don't worry, you'll soon get sick of him when we're in a shit position by new year. By then, I'll just be more prepared by the inevitable and it won't hurt as bad.

Personally I'd prefer to wait until the New Year and see where we are rather than be depressed now about something that may not happen.

I don't know what went wrong at Colchester and I know he was admired by the fans.  However, I have friends who work on the inside at Colchester who say they were pleased to see the back of him and that he based all his ideas, including mannerisms, on a certain MON.

Be careful what you wish for.

Sour grapes because he left when and how he did I don't know.

Lambert looks a very promising manager. Have to say though, that I've noticed his touchline mannerisms are spookily similar to Martin O'Neill's.

Lambert undoubtedly is one to keep an eye on in future but i think any manager would struggle given the circumstances in which mcleish took the job , any club who sells its prize assets year after year and doesnt reinvest the cash on new players is heading for trouble and i would label more blame on lerner than mcleish for the current situation.

Last year, in this period,  I had a dream: Paul Lambert at Villa.
Not only today's game, but the entire season (ours and  the Canaries' one) convinced me that he'd be the right man for the job.
Rumours has it that it could be our new manager, hasn't it?

His comments in his post match press conference didn't sound like those of a man staying where he is.

Well he certainly stuck with Colchester through thick and thin. I hear that limpets model themselves on him.

One thing I will say is he strikes me as the sort of bloke who'll put up with no fucking about, and run things the way he wants to, and that's what we need more than anything right now.

I'm pretty sure I thought that about McLeish, God help me.
