He's presumably going straight into the squad for Sunday so good luck Andreas; here's hoping you get a run out and make an impact!

Don't matter how many strikers we have he'll only play one up front, I actually like Andreas I don't rate the Fonz, as my mate says he couldn't beat an egg. Send him out on loan

So - there are loans and 'loans'.  Darn it.

I think the rule is you cannot recall a loan from abroad.

It's less frequent now with the academy system that 16-21 year olds are getting runs in the first team.  Not just for us, but for everybody.  It's the bigger squads and the huge difference between academy/reserve football and even the championship.

Very few of the kids are prepared for the extra level of physicality.  You are still growing physically until you are 23, not everyone is a man-boy like Wayne Rooney or James Milner.  There are a lot more late-bloomers now than there used to be because of the gap in standards, and just because a player doesn't adapt straight away doesn't mean we should write them off.

The Fonz is a rare talent who has been around the 1st team squad for 3 years, but he is still only 20.  The instability over the last 18 months has done more damage to the youth than anything else because we have had a bunch of different managers who play different styles and no singular club philosophy for them to aim for in play style, that will see them through from youth to the senior team.  This is why Ajax has been a production line over the years, Barcelona is doing the same thing.  Arsenal have it too, even though they are buying youth at a later age.

Every youth player at Man U knows what Sir Alex is like and what he is looking for as well.  We may have a good academy, but for our youth players it is a crap shoot about what to work on to appeal to the first team manager.

We played 2 up front last week and, as expected, it didn't work.

Agree with others Fonz hasn't been given a chance, how can he develop if he's not been given the playing time? Start him against QPR and see what he can do,I don't think Mcleish will though because he hasn't got the audacity.

Ok, i thought he was out wide but if he did start with two up front, then it worked seeing as Gabby scored after 13 minutes.

It'll be interesting to see what he does tomorrow.
