Lowest Point
« on: September 20, 2011, 10:02:53 PM »
I dont think I have felt as down and depressed being an aston villa fan as I do tonight. I gave my season ticket up for the first time for years and its the first time I can say in my life i dont look forward to the game on the weekend. Even playing United at Old Trafford when were most likely to lose there was still the hope you never know! Thats gone now under this manager.

Im 29 and have felt some real lows following Villa losing at Wembley, losing to blues etc but even then we had the will to win and tried to attack. Under this manager we try not to lose. The Chairman has really let the team down by appointing a dour dire manager.

It hurts to admit this but I dont want to go and watch my football club as it is being ruined. If anyone at the club is reading this please take note as many of the supporters who I know feel the same and more will follow.

Were not showing disloyalty were just demoralised by the negative desperate tactics this manager brings.

There's a long way to go yet until we reach a nadir such as Billy McNeil's tenure or relegation to Division 3.

The words 'there's, light, no, end, the, of, the, at, tunnel' can be arranged into an apt sentence.

A sense of perspective is needed, and the club has been in far worse positions.

It doesn't make it any easier to stomach though, particularly when it was screamed from the rooftops by all and sundry that this would happen.

It is bad but there has been worse. Runners-up in '93, nearly relegated in '95. We're Villa, we f*ck it up.

I think the chasm between us and clubs we were with 2 seasons ago, with no plan or coherant objective to get back at least to their coat tails, coupled with the reality that we have one of the least attractive managers football wise in the football league, means there is so little to look forward too. I don't reckon there will be many over 32-33k there all season, and the board have brought that on themselves with their appointment and management of the club in the last 18 months.

I was gutted to lose to Oxford in that semi in 85(?) this result is nowhere near that or the relegations. Get a grip man.

It is not the lowest point in our history, but it sure is uninspiring to follow us. No hope, no ambition.

Villa had one playing in midfield tonight called Stephen Ireland, how on earth did we manage to sign him for £8m and agree to pay him £50k a week for 3 years? Truly embarrassing.

Not as bad as Doncaster - 'fair play to Donny'  O'Leary's quote and 5-1 away at Spurs.

It's not the end.  It's just the beginning of the end.

You are only 29 believe me after 40 years of supporting this club there are far more lower points that are possible.
