Dean Saunders, going well as manager, some % villa
« on: September 11, 2011, 09:15:07 AM »
i see Wrexham are top of the league in the blue sqaure, equal points with Gateshead, 8 games played 19 points taken,
would love him to do well,
when he did a bit of commentary work for a few Villa euro games he was good value, his views were incitefull as well as entertaining, i remember being a bit supprised but very impressed.

Pleased for him , i also found his analysis in commentary very good as with wilkins , and much better than listening to someone afraid to express their real opinion as many are.

Lets hope he returns wrexham to the football league, Deano was a great player for us and gave many memorable moments, also the only player ive seen to run mcgrath ragged one day at the old baseball ground.

He's just been on Sky talking about the League Cup win. Just showing highlights now and they will be chatting to him again in a bit.

Could he be our manage in a decade time, after learning the rope in lower level.

Wrexham might not last the season. They no longer own their ground and are something like £1million in debt. Their Supporters Trust is trying to buy out the current owners but they can't yet guarantee they can raise enough cash to pay a £250,000 bond to the Football Conference to secure their ongoing place in the league.

I loved him as a player, loved it when he apeared on Zig n Zag one day before I had to leave for school, love the fact he loves Villa and wish him all the success in the world. If he decides the management lark isn't for him then a careeer in punditry definitely is, looks pretty natural in front of the camera and manages to string sentances together without resorting to cheap cliches. Also looks like he's always about to smile, like when he was playing for us. Top bloke.

Yes top bloke. So many good memories, but i will just pick out one.
Do you remember the goal when he and the oppo keeper chased a ball to the touchline. He had no teammate available so took the throw and bounced it off the retreating keepers back to play himself in to score.
Who was that against, is there any video footage or did I just dream it? :D
EDIT: it was for sheff utd, still class though-
