This is Dusty!!!

Goodness me, why would you want any other version?

Apart from God, of course.

I'd forgotten how great Dusty Springfield's voice was. There's something about her voice that puts me in mind of Amy Winehouse.

Anyway, enjoyed this version, at the risk of sounding 'twee', it was nice.

Me too. It's beauty, vulnerability, originality and all-round greatness.

Not bad at all actually but as someone said earlier I'll buy it whatever it sounds like

When a film is made of the man's life this will play before segueing into Dusty's version of the song and the closing credits will roll.

This for me - profound post

A wonderful song, Nils Lofgren did a storming version on Whistle Test years ago and Freddie Mercury recorded a version under the name "Larry Lurex". It's hard to beat Dusty though, what a voice.

Anyway, Paul's version is just fine.

If you didn't know it was him singing you'd think it was okay.  The fact that you know it's him makes it much better.

Skimming stones isn't his thing is it?

Listening to this one, if I didn't know it was Freddie singing I would have thought it was Dusty or another female. Very high

Not as bad as I thought it would be.

In fact, fuck it, it's the best song I've ever heard.

It's alright.

Does anyone have a link to his song that got to number one in the Irish charts? I think it was just called "Ooa Aah Paul McGrath". A bit of research tells me it was by a band called "Watch Your House" but I can only find their 1994 World Cup song online.

Blimey, who'd have thought it?

Anyone know why he's done it? Is he a frustrated crooner or something?

One of the better ex-footballer's attempts at music, but then again when the compeition is Diamond Lights by Hoddle & Waddle, you're 6-0 up at half time against 9 men!

Its caused me to 'unfollow' the spoof General K on Twitter. He tweeted last night that 1000 copies had been delivered to the club and they could be used as ash trays.
Now i'm always up for a laugh and have enjoyed the spoof tweets, but that's disrespectful of a legend trying to do positive things with his life.
Unfollowed.
