0% Villa - Garry Cook in trouble again

City chief Cook at centre of storm over email to Onuoha's cancer-stricken mother

Manchester City chief executive Garry Cook could come under scrutiny from the Premier League and the Football Association amid claims an offensive email was sent from his account to Nedum Onuoha's mother.

The distasteful message appeared to mock Dr Anthonia Onuoha's battle with cancer after she had written to City football administrator Brian Marwood last October to settle a dispute over her out-of-favour son's contract.

Dr Anthonia had explained to Marwood that although her body was 'ravaged by cancer' she was still able to represent her son.

She was left stunned, however, at the indecent reply she allegedly received from Cook, addressed to Marwood, which read: 'Ravaged with it!!!... I don't know how you sleep at night. You used to be such a nice man when I worked with you at nike (sic)'

Hurt and humiliated by the alleged sent message, Dr Anthonia replied the next day, saying: 'Thanks very much for your insightful email.'

Cook, who infamously caused a storm with his comments describing Kaka as a 'bottler' after failing to sign the Brazilian from AC Milan in 2009, insisted he was on holiday in South Africa when the vile email was sent and apparently apologised for the 'embarrassment' it had caused.

However, he is said to have claimed that after launching an internal investigation, he discovered that a member of his staff had sent the message to Marwood as a joke. City have so far declined to comment on the story.

Former England Under 21 international Onuoha spent last season out on loan at Sunderland and although he hasn't featured for the club this season the 24-year-old was named in Roberto Mancini's official Barclays Premier League squad.

Almost a year later, Dr Anthonia has urged the FA and the Premier League to investigate the matter.

'When I opened my emails and saw the message, it was the worst day of my life, even worse than being diagnosed with cancer,' she told The Sun.

'It's incredible that any human being would write this. It's unforgivable.

'When Cook replied to me, he said that he was confused, that he'd been away on holiday in South Africa and that somebody had hacked into his email account and that whoever had sent the email to Brian Marwood meant as a practical joke.

'The feeling of humiliation still persists. Now I want the FA and the Premier League to see what's happened and to take the appropriate action.'

They might have more money than most of the rest of the Premier League put together, but class can never be bought.

If you were sitting on the fence as regards to whether to despise this creature or not, this should help you make your decision. He really is quite the wanker.

He does appear to be a bit of a scumbag but why has it taken almost 12 months for this to come out?  Something fishy going on...

And rightly so. Is he still claiming that someone hacked his account?

I don't wish to defend the Bluenose wanker but it is intriguing that this has come out a year later and via The Sun.

So, someone hacked his account, and the full extent of their malicious behaviour was to send this one email?

Right.

I'm sure Mrs Onuaha is a lovely lady and I hope she beats her illness but is receiving this email really worse than being diagnosed with cancer?
