Games kick off about a minute late at 3.01 due to TV company requirement somewhere in the world. There is usually 2 minutes added at the end of first half. That means halftime whistle is at 3.48. 15 minutes og HT break and another minutes delay in kick off takes us to 4.04. 45 mins of second half and 4 mins of injury time  takes us to 5.53. All PL games now end  between 4.50 and 4.55.

You forgot, that only applies at Old Trafford.

I can never understand why the refs always wait for a free kick to be taken before they blow up. It was always the case, and I don't think it's changed, that time is not added on for free-kicks, throw-ins etc (unless deliberate time-wasting is involved) apart from for a penaltyy
