No idea whether he is any good or not, but at least I can see a logic with this one.

We don't have any obvious candidates for the position emerging from the ranks, nor do we have the money to buy quality off the peg.

Worth the punt though. I just wish we had made a few more deals like this.

"Keep right on to the enda the road ..."?

No, I thought not.

Great to see us taking a punt on a potential star (the last one we punted on - the Togolese Zidane - cost us a small fortune in wages, I suppose): Will Enda be the Irish Roberto Carlos?

If it doesn't work it's not like we're spending £40k a week on him (BEYE)

I think this is the sort of 'out of the box' low risk scouting and signing a lot said we should have done more of under MON.

I'm pretty neutral about it and I guess we'll just see if he works out or not.

The barman in my local is called Enda. The jokes lasted about 2 minutes before you realised he must have heard them thousands of times and he was serving you your beer!

''He sounds like he should be Prime Minister of New Zealand'', mate of mine sent me that when I told him who we signed.

He sounds even more like a potential Taoiseach of Ireland.  (Current Irish leader is Enda Kenny).

No, that'll come around November time I reckon when those loveable scouse rougues start asking "£20m, but he won't put a tackle in???"

You beat me to it! I was just going to post that!

Enda is a very common name here but I can see how outside Ireland it must seem hilarious!!

There's a piece in today's Irish Independent about this.
Apparently the fee is £250,000 with add ons if he breaks into the first team.
The strange thing is that the Hoops manager is a MON!!

There's been a few gems plucked out of the Irish league in recent years, here's hoping young Edna can add to that list.

Is Enda really that uncommon a name over there? That said, I've lost count of the amount of people who've had problems with my name........
