The last 4 villa managers and Fabio all agree with me.  Emile Heskey is first choice for the team.  Club and country.  Eat it up.  He's brill. Let's celebrate him!

I'm a major fan of Mr. Heskey.   Which bit of the last 11 games featuring him didn't you like?
The last 30 minutes on Saturday for a start. He went missing.

So it was Heskeys fault that the manager never subbed in when he had run himself into the ground.
It's Heskeys fault he can't last 90 minutes.Petrov gets dogs abuse for the same thing.

Playing midfield is a different fitness level then playing striker and I doubt Bent would be very mobile playing in a similar role after a similar amount of time. I also don't give Petrov dogs abuse for the same thing either. The manager should either be prepared it is going to happen and be ready with subs or look to change the style of play to enable the stamina to last, or look to get players in to allow these players to be rested/leave. Having to play every match doesn't help either for both players.

I liked it all, I particularly liked his demented charge at the referee against Wigan at home when he tried to get himself sent off.

Let's face it,he could not be any worse than he is as a centre forward.

Say it ain't so.

We can't afford to lose his goal threat.

well he's not much use as a forward so i'm guessing AM is just considering his options.. Personally if you lay him down flat on the floor and build a wooden frame around him he'd make a perfect team bench. Stand him upright and you've got one side of a goalpost or maybe a supporting pillar if we ever rebuild the North stand.

He said "he might even one day have to fill in at centre-half".

What's the big deal?

That he even thought it?

Ah I see - thought crime, that's the worst type.

And the thought police are the bad cops!

I really can't see any use for him at all on a football pitch.

Didn't we once have a saxophone playing centre forward who converted to CB with limited success?

I recall him playing at centre half for Wigan in a game they needed to win to stay up and he was immense. He's definitely an asset at defensive set pieces, whether he could be a good centre half on a regular basis, i'm not so sure, but he's a stack better footballer than he's given credit for by Villa fans.Mind you we've always loved a scapegoat.
