Who's next?
« on: August 29, 2011, 11:58:56 PM »
With the rumours about Beye following hot on the heels of Luke Young leaving the strategy of flogging MON's signings ASAP seems blindingly obvious now, so who do we think is the next one to be shifted off the wage bill?

It's not a vote for who you WANT to leave, but which one you think will be next.  No ulterior motive, just trying to bring a bit of gallows humour to a depressing topic!

Where are Bent and Gabby on that poll?

Arsenal are preparing a £40million double swoop as we speak I'll bet.

I'd accept it if it meant we got to keep Beye. Am I doing this right?

MON didn't sign either of them so I'm hoping they're not being paid a million pounds a week like his other signings!

Will the last player to leave Villa Park please turn off the lights.

Seriously, turn off the fucking lights, we can't afford the electric bill!

Just checked - we've now lost 11/24 from the 2011 Villa Calendar.  Not counting Beye, so almost 50%!  Not so much a calendar, more a prospectus for raising cash, if you were feeling cynical. I also found out September's gone completely (Young X 2) which is sad, but I've pasted a picture of Bent over it which is better!

Please, Randy, leave December the way it is...(Gabby and Barry Bannan) no matter what the temptation over the next 48 hours or so.

Can someone lock Darren Bent in a cupboard at Bodymoor Heath for the next couple of days? Thanks.

Looking at that list of star buys. i'd say they're safe.

A) No-one would want them and b) they're not worth much..

Complete overreaction by some. Apart from A Young and Downing who both wanted to leave for different reasons the other players have been moved on by a new manager who quite rightly want his own players in. Given and Nzogbia are good quality signings and will be joined by another 3 possible signings IMO. Hutton who has proven premiership experience and was bought by Spurs for £9m looks like one. The other 2 look certain to be midfield. No more will go now as Cuellar will be used as back up in defence. If Hutton costs say £3.5m the outlay on players so far will be £16.5m so I expect another £5-£6m signing and a loan deal for the 2 midfielders.
