I try to forget Pires even played for us.

Houllier didn't half drop some clangers in his short time here.

I remember one of the first games he played for us was against Arsenal. He got absolutely mullered in that game. I think almost every Arsenal player, maybe even their keeper might have roasted Bobby for pace that day. Left him coughing on a dust cloud. He couldn't get near the ball all game. You just knew right then that his legs were well gone.
Still, the goal against Blackburn in the cup was class. I'll give him that.

I had forgotten about him until Wednesday night and he popped up on Sky and mentioned he played for us.

He was here for a couple of months at a time when we couldn't sign anyone else and we were desperate for numbers. He cost nothing, his wages were likely to be comparative peanuts and it wasn't like he was keeping anyone out of the team.

Bumping this to hear and discuss former players,  its in my  preference  to  threads  on specific  players .

If those who feel same they can write but if others don't then they can do as they choose too .

(unless it's some legends do we really need to  pay such attention in giving own thread to past players ! Personally I think it should  be current players only)

Wolves have officially signed winger Adama Traore for a club-record fee after meeting the £18m release clause in his Middlesbrough contract!!

I think villa get a piece of the pie!

So much for cheksea but I think he has talent to play in premier league and on his game is basically unplayable .

Talk of Carlos Sanchez off to West ham. I remember this morning world cup he was truly awful either getting sent off or intentional fouling and giving the PK for Harry Kane.

I think Pellegrini will fancy him for his south American flavor but I don't feel he's suited to British tempo .

He's good at running about 5 yards behind the opposition player with the ball.

For those with memories of youth players that we thought would make it Janoi Doncenian who played regularly in the Accrington Stanley (resist the urge to say the obvious) team in their promotion year has bagged himself a transfer to the East Anglian powerhouse that is Ipswich Town.

I always liked Donacien and thought he would make it, perhaps he still will. Can’t be that old. Was thinking about Isaiah Osbourne the other day, as one of the Villa/Hibs players (McGinn, Bremner, Cropley, De La Cruz).

He's 25 in a few months, I liked him in those few pre-season games he played that one season and hoped at the time he'd be given a few competitive games. I guess his career since shows we didn't miss out on much.

Benteke to score for Palace today Fulham have new / not first choice defence .

'pierrot' ayew on the bench for palace perhaps .

I don't know if Joe Bennett will be favoured think he could be below Cunningham now and be interesting to see how Cardiff get on against Bournemouth . Could be a 0-0

Gueye will be given run around by the wolves but thinking he be the midfielder destroyer for everton this season.

Westwood and Lowton .
Well tbf to Lowton at least he shows some intenet going forward.

Westwood seems more a place holder at this time and gets game time starts due to injuries
