Fair play to Phillips for still going at his age. Although I was surprised that only once did he ever score more than 14 in a top flight season.

Robbie Keane scored a hat-trick at the weekend for the Los Angeles Milky Way (or something like that).

Phillips at 40 got a better eye for goal compared to a number of strikers who followed. Baros, Heskey , even gabby could learn a thing from him.

Shame he got injured whilst with us but he recovered in his 3 years of football retirement

Interesting little article here - http://sports.myjoyonline.com/pages/news/201305/106751.php

Suggests Ashley Young, at £130k per week, is one of the Top 10 most overpaid players in the Premier League!

Ashley has been unlucky with injuries this season. He is good enough for man u and deserves what he earns. Its not Rooney who hasn't performed. And that list should basically show the qpr team as the top 10 overpaid players.
I for one am happy youngy got his  winners medal this season. Moyes will get he best out of him

Young had some good games for ManU when he first went there.

It was after that disgraceful dive against us that he had a run of bad form and started to play like the kind of player that would struggle to get a game for Stoke.

This may be my imagination.

Derick Williams has just come on for last few mins Bristol City debut @ Gillingham. Very good prospect and for me he could have beeen a part of villa squad. Elliot parish was on the bench next to him

Very true. Their most consistent players last season were the ones who had the least reputation in the top flight. Players like Derry and Mackie who clearly aren't Prem quality but the only players who really bust a gut for them.

All the big money players coming with a reputation either half assed it or spent most of their time injured.

Luke Moore signed for Elazigspor in Turkey last week. He's pushing older brother Stephen for the accolade of biggest balls up of a promising career ever!

I imagine he's quite happy rolling in lira and ladies over there.
Expect a Sunday Mercury sex-romp exposé this winter: "Moore The Merrier as Luke Enjoys Turkish Delights"

I'd say that's a rather spectacular exaggeration - at the same age Stefan was turning out for St Neots Town. Luke was scoring winning goals against the league champions as recently as last ten months ago.

The Süper Lig is hardly the worst league in the world.

I'd argue that Luke is considerably more talented than Stephan so to end up at a club in Turkey that has never won a domestic trophy, is currently enjoying only its 4th season in the top flight and in a ground with a capacity less than 15,000, when he's at the peak age for a footballer is a terrible waste of talent.

At the end of the day, both are massively below where they should be given their natural talents.

Elliot Parish, Shorey, Marlon F Harewood, all playing for Bristol City tonight, not Williams though.
