New (can I say that?) Retro Shirt
« on: August 19, 2011, 07:28:07 PM »
I was in the shop today with the intention of buying a retro shirt. Decided not to when I was told they are releasing a 1992 replica with McGrath 5 on the back. It'll be the one with the laces.

I'll have to get that when they release it.

Wasnt a fan of the laces to be honest,i think my favourite kit was probably the 82 home kit with blue sides.

I still have the original one and it still fits. I obviously haven't piled on too many pounds since I was 17.

I still have my original, all my old shirts going back to the late 80s still fit me. Might be time for the Brazil shirt from the BFR years to get an airing tomorrow.

Try getting God no 5 on that and not looking like a knob.

Wasn't the 1992 shirt a nod in the direction of the 1890's style of shirt? So if this one comes out it will be a replica of a replica.
Now can I have my prize as pedant of the year? ::)

Won't have a sponsor or Umbro on it, will it?

I was just thinking what the laughing policeman said. And I find it a bit sad that, having clearly exhausted replicating the shirts worn during the various successes between '57-'82 we are left to ''celebrate'' being runners-up from twenty odd years ago.

Diadora put out a lovely range of retro gear when they were our kit-makers. Names and numbers of Mortimer, Cowans, Shaw, McGrath and Platt old-style shirts, all claret, white or blue. They looked the business.

I bought a replica of that a couple of months ago, as i'm only 24 wasn't alive when it was launched, but much prefer the old replicas to the new ones that seem like tat the season after.

Yes not a fan of that laces shirt, the Club have misjudged this one, there are much better shirts to replicate.
Not that I'd ever buy a replice, just buy the real thing
