Old Star's match in my neck of the woods:

It's hoped this match will raise at least £10000 for Rowcroft Hospice, Children's Hospice Southwest and the Aston Villa Former Player's Association.

If you're down here on holiday, it'll be a nice break from the beach!

They are down my way July 21st playing the Torbay Old Bill. I have managed to blag my family to abandon our caravan trip early enough on the Sunday to get there for this. I can't wait I haven't watched Villa live in the flesh for years!

Just been to the match against Torbay Police. The good news is that we won 4 - 2 and the last goal was a cracker - a lob over the keeper. The not so good news was that only 2 ex-players were there. Apparently, the old stars pulled out on Friday but I don't know the reason why.

Anyway, lots of money raised for charity so that's a definite plus.

I didn't click at first who you were, I was a bit slow on the uptake. My description worked then!

We didn't get there til late and I said to the mrs I didn't recognize anyone and that some of the team looked too young for old stars. That explains it then. Pity there was a no show but we still enjoyed it and it looked like everyone else there did too. We loved the robot he was ace. Great to see that many claret and blue down here in sunny Devon.

I think Bryan Small was playing but I didn't recognise anyone else. We were behind the goal we were attacking in the second half. I was glad of the factor 50, it was baking. Good to see the players had drinks breaks during each half, very sensible.
