They pick us up then drop us down...reported tonight that McLeish has said only 1 more signing...why didnt they utilise the 1-11 numbers in the squad more effectively...Albrighton could have had 10 etc

We desperately need a superstar at number 8.

What's Robert Pires up to?

In his interview at press conference with Shay Given. On AVTV. Said that would prob be just 1 more as wanted to utilise players which didnt feature last year like Warnock and Ireland

In the late 1990s, I was at Fenway Park in Boston for a game. Two guys behind me were discussing the retired numbers displayed on the roof of the right field stand. They ran thro' the numbers but got stumped at the "42".

Numpty 1 - "Why's 42 in blue but the others are in red ?"

Numpty 2 - "That's for Mo Vaughn, its ub a different color because he hasn't retired yet"

I thought that they were joking but they were being serious

This was followed by a certain Brit having to explain the story of Jackie Robinson to a pair of Americans  ::)

Wonder how many people have had Collins 29 on their new shirts?

Surprised a change has happened this late. Should have given Delph or Albrighton 8.

Cheers, suppose that makes sense as Downing was holding 6 at the original listing. On that basis, wondered if Cuellar could have had 4 as it doesn't look likely there are any more coming in now. 4 and 8 still vacant in the "first 11". Albrighton could have had 8 maybe. Anyone think we may have a couple of loan signings ?
