Worry? This is the best time of the year, we're second in the league!

Patience is a virtue...with Villa, often rewarded with medicore signings (ex Bent).

I'm not concerned at all at this stage - in fact, I'm actually starting to get quite excited about the coming season. I accept that it's more hope than anything else, but I really think that McLeish might do just fine for us - I'm fairly certain that he'll guide us to a comfortable top half finish, which is about what I expect for us pretty much of the time anyway, and is about what I'd have expected from any of the other managerial candidates who we were linked with.

I think there is a reasonable amount of money to spend, and with just a couple of good signings in the right positions, we'll be a good team again.

Also, I'm also reasonably sure that we will not start the season without a goalkeeper!

I never worry about pre-season, it's a great time. The results are irrelevant.

I've started dropping hints to the wife that I'd like to take her for a romantic weekend away at our honeymoon destination - Portugal.

I'm more glad he hasn't dived in and made quick signings. They'll be thought through and discussed with staff about weaknesses and such
He won't sign anyone before the players are back so don't worry

When do we report back for pre-season?   I see Man Utd have already.....

Probably because their season starts a week earlier than our season.

Is it just me or is there anyone else out there getting very nervous about pre-season, and the fact that we still do not have Goal keeper, lots of rumours and speculation but nothing concreate. What is happening!!!!!

yes it does seem that way but as everyone knows new players need no time at all to find their feet, they automatically click with their new teammates and really there's no point paying wages for new players before the season has started............
