Can we go to the pub with the 50s throwback barmaids again? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we? Can we?

Are 50's throwback barmaids a bigger attraction than Goth night at the Barton's? - strokes Beard and thinks.

After Villa and Blues, who are Birmingham's third biggest football club?

Depends whether you count Solihull Moors. If not, it's Sutton Coldfield Town.

I am biased because I work for Solihull Moors and it is the third biggest club in Birmingham.

For £10 you get a match ticket, A bar to get a couple of beers and watch Sky on the big screen. Good match day food and then a Beer after the game without hardly moving a muscle. Sometimes you get a great game of football,

Anyhow my vote is for Solihull Moors

Is the ground in Birmingham?

If anyone would be interested my friend has just taken over as chairman at Gornal Athletic and would be glad of some backing from a H&V meet?

I could get him to put on something for us.

Fixtures for The Conference leagues have been slightly delayed while they sort out the Rushden and Diamonds debacle, this will in turn lead to delays as you go down the pyramid.
Should start to be sorted out next week though.

Grounds with easy public transport and at least one good pub nearby include the aforementioned Stourbridge and Halesowen. Gornal isn't the easiest, you have to bet things like buses, but it's a great ground.
There's always Telford with a stop off at Oakengates on the way, me and Mr Jeffries are already looking at that for when Tamuff go up there.
Maybe also Darlaston or Bilston (for the Olde White Rose and The Trumpet?
Lye Town for The Windsor Castle?
Worcester City for loads of pubs (although I'm doing that on 6th August for the Tamworth friendly).

I'll probably be Stour!

Tipton Town are my local team but their ground doesn't seem particularly welcoming (running track around it) plus the chairman has just been sent down for fraud. Too many similarities with another team I know.... I'll stick to watching them for five minutes from the adjacent Asda car park on the odd Saturday afternoon.

S'pose the next closest team would be Bilston... Does Wednesbury have a non-league team? I never hear of them if they do.  I'm not indigenous to the area though so my hearts not really in it.

Haven't had one for years, the last Wednesbury Town team folded about four years ago but were playing in Darlaston anyway.

Rushall Olympic's move into the big league needs all the support it can get.  And The Royal Oak over the road serves (amongst others) the ales of the Backyard Brewery - Backyard Blonde is a joy to behold.

Sadly, the nearby Boathouse is not to be touched with (pardon the pun) a barge pole.

Sorry GP but I stopped liking Rushall Olympic after they had Tamworth kicked out of the Birmingham Senior Cup a few years back.

Well, if nothing else Gornal would surely appreciate the extra money a few of us would spend, either of you have any info on maybe match ball sponsorship as well? Wouldn't cost much each.
A few of us on a (now sadly gone) non-league forum did this up in Gateshead a few years back when they were in financial trouble.
