It'd also be interesting to find out how much Villa will make from the two gigs.

They're fuckin' shit.

It's one of the 'hidden' tracks on their latest CD.

49,999 tickets sold - 28K on the pitch alone

Was there last night and the size of the operation is incredible - stage is mainly on the north stand and goes the full length of the pitch
I am working it and the detail that has gone into the operation is amazing - including our roles. Fair play to the Ops people at VP they are so organised and are held in such high esteem not just in football

It is worth a mint to the club and if successful they are hopeful of more in the future

What was the last concert at Villa Park?

Wasn't it Rod Stewart when the locals were advised to go to Paris for the day if they didn't like the noise?

1993/94? Interesting. If it makes money for the club I'm all for it.

Rod Stewart in '93. I sat in the North Stand, the concert was in the round with the stage on the pitch. The Witton Lane was only half done with the bottom tier missing.

Old Rod had caused a stir when advising the local residents to "go to Paris for the day" when they lodged complaints about the noise and disruption. In response they held a french themed party on the edge of Aston Park outside the Trinity and were roundly ignored by the passing concert goers.

Belinda Carlisle was the support and I had a 99.

I've been to more memorable gigs, I have to confess.

49,999 x 2 nights and i guessed 100,000. Does that mean i get a head start in the guess the crowd competition ?
