Yes, he had a horror season injury wise and i was looking forward to seeing the players he was going to bring in. On the answers in already a greater percentage would take him back whcih gives a man with a dickie hearT more popularity than AM.

Without a shadow of a doubt. He'd been planning all season for this Summer's business.

The Guardian reported we had two players lined up already.

I've been told he had a list of gettable signings that would have turned us into top four contenders.

Woah boy! Ease up......

Top 4 contenders?

I think these Rose coloured spectacles hankering for what might have been is somewhat far fetched. I respect your Moderator status et al but let's get a grip on reality here. Downing's goal against Liverpool was the difference between ending up 9th and 14th in a season where we were serious contenders for relegation.

McLeish is NOT the answer......and neither was Houllier.

Isn't GH good mates with McLeish? I'm sure he could give him some ideas when it comes to decent signings *frantically clutches at straws*

If he was fit without a doubt yes. I think there was a bigger picture view with GH that would have seen us building a very talented squad.
This.
Seconded.

I would have said no but with McLeish on his way I'd Rather have a Gerard houllier who has lost all his senses.

I'd also have kept bobby pires over the shite I think McLeish will bring in.

Agree,if he was well,I couldn't see a problem with what he was doing. Get shot of the dead wood, bring in some young talent with the ability to keep the ball.

Now were stuck with the poor man's M'ON.

I've amended the thread title to give people a clue what it's about.  Why would you start a thread called "For everybody on here"?  Who else do you think is going to be reading it?

Yes, I thought he had a great plan by the sounds of it, and we were playing decent stuff. I wonder how ill he really is.

I was hoping he would continue.  He made some mistakes by trying to change things too quickly but I liked the general direction he was taking us in, a more continental style passing game, more discipline on the training ground, a willingness to rotate and utilise the younger players.  I also think his January signings of Bent, Walker and Makoun showed promise and I was looking forward to getting more of the same class in during the summer.  I'd have him back like a shot, and I'd have a semi-comatose GH over McLeish.

That's what I've been told, and the source was someone who should know.
