So we now know that the accurate shooting gene didn't make its way down two generations.

Aren't you a teacher? You'd have clipped one of your young lads' ear for that comment.

Dunce's cap for Top Deck.

Go and stand in the corner, boy.

Savo was one of the most talented footballers I have seen in my time supporting Villa. This is very sad news indeed  and very tragic that family disputes can  end in this way however disputes over property in some parts of the world  do rip  families to pieces.

As said this is time of unbearable pain for the family and my  best wishes are with Savo.

Agreed - awful for the families concerned.

There are probably statistics somewhere proving you're more likely to be murdered by a family member than a stranger.

The other high profile father/son shooting that springs to mind is Marvin Gaye.

His goal at Wembley is etched into my brain.  I'll remember that long after I've forgotten my own name and where I live.

Same for me. Was my favourite player for the whole time he was at Villa Park and if we'd been employing Lorna McClelland whilst he was with us then I believe he'd have done even better for us. Sad news.

I had the best view in the stadium of that goal.  I knew as soon as it left his boot it was going in.

I think (just me) I had the best view sitting behind the goal at "our end" the opposite end slightly left to the goal as you look on the pitch right in line with Savo let the left foot go I jumped up. Brilliant. Spinky was sitting two rows behind me said he would have saved it!!

He had one of the best left foots I've seen at VP. Supremely talented - he was just a little young for us to see the best of him.

37 goals in 102 internationals is not to be sniffed at either.

Yes I was sitting in the same area!  I had no idea Spinky was sitting near me though!

He scored one of the best goals ever at wembley. I remember the stick he used to get and then went and lamped that ball in the net at wembley , it was one of my highest moments as a villa fan when that went in , I went absolutely crazy...   I was so happy for him ..

Real value for money watching Savo and Yorkie every week for the Villa. I couldn't wait for matchday to come around in those days.

Best wishes to Savo and family at this terrible time for them.
