Last time this was in Hong Kong in 2007, the Wednesday games were watched by 35000+, and the Saturday games by 39000+, in a 40000 capacity stadium.
Premier leaugue refs go over for it too. Foy and Clattenburg last time.
The Premier teams were L'pool, Pompey and Hull.
The 2030 kick off on the Wednesday between Chelsea and Kitchee ensures the local side gets to play the "big team", and at prime time.

I hope not. 6 points guaranteed every season!

Season 9/10 0 Points
Season 10/11 3 Points

However cup wins guaranteed.

This is another chance for players from clubs like Villa to mingle with "top club" Chelsea and ask ...nay plead...for a move.

Was going as it is only a hours flight from where i am but when i discovered it is 36 quid per person per day and i would have to pay for my other half who would be looking anywhere bar the pitch decided against it. With hotel accomodation, flight and food etc, just not worth it to watch what looks at the moment  being Villa reserves play Blackburn yet again.

I think the choice of freindlies has been poor this year. Kiddy would have been a better choice than Walsall again and it's a shame that many of us are going to be at work when we play on the Wednesday in the Asia Cup. The one in Portugal sounds a bit of a mare to get to as well. Oh well, at least Derby should be a good run out.

Have to disagree with that.  I love the annual trip to Walsall.

I just wish they would play at week-ends, doesn't seem a completely unreasonable request!

I'll be there. Taking the missus. We've always fancied going to Hong Kong, so when the chance of seing the lads in action there came along, it was too good an opportunity to miss. Can't believe frickin' Blackburn got the invite too, but hey ho. If you see a Lichfield Villains banner on the TV, that'll be us.

We're going.  Been persuaded by Jon's sister who lives on Lamma Island and works in HK.  I'm in denial as I can't stand the thought of flying for so many hours.  Only ever flown for 4 hours before.  Help!
