Might be interesting to see how the Average Possession one differs from MON's time, as the way Gezza likes to ply seems to be all about possession of the football?

One stat particularly suprised me, that Stoke are in the lower half of the 'average long balls per game' table.  Bollocks!

The statistic which would be most interesting in relation to Sterk would be percentage of the game that the ball is not in play.

We have got to improve our pass completion rate only 74% hopefully we will have a better completion rate next season.

The interesting stat there for me was that our success in aerial challenges was in the top half of the table (ok, 10th); with the appalling set-piece defending record, I would have expected the data to look different on this.
Re the pass completion, given the focus that has been given to this over the season either the coaching has been poor, or the players have just not engaged with the strategy or we have the wrong players for the game the management wants to play. Cue player-clearout!

That fair play place is not quite that simple, they also include intangible criteria such as how the club conducts itself, so there are other factors than just fouls, bookings etc.

It wasn't winning the initial challenge that was the problem, it was clearing it afterwards.

Stick with the classics kids, results and goals are all you need for team stats.
