The point is Villa have to be that decisive: Sorry, Gerard; Hi, David. The point is not Carlo begs to manage Villa.

No chance. Get the feeling from the media spin Houllier is going to stay on.

Right here we go - the Board need to get pragmatic and business minded on the football side this Summer.

Much as I believe GH had some obstacles that weren't of his making (and plenty that certainly were), and 9th has provided a pleasent respectability given these circumstances, it hasn't worked imo.

This is Randy and the Villa's big chance to kill two birds with one stone - Ancelotti would be perfect for us and GH can move into a Boardroom advisory role - best solution all around - GH leaves the main role with his head held high and we can retain his knowledge, Villa get the fully fit top class Manager that we need, eager to prove a point or two.

No brainer assuming he'll want to come to us that is.

I would welcome CA at VP the guy's a class act.

Houllier, love him or hate him we can not and must not risk his health or risk what has happened this season again. We got lucky in that GM managed to hold it together, in fact he did far better than I thought he would but I don't want to go through a season again only really enjoying the last day!

Ancelotti should be waking up this morning with the shadowy figures of Randy and the General at the bottom of his bed. They should have some kind of contract, a pen and a revolver. They should make it clear to Mr Ancelotti that by breakfast, either his signature or his brains will be on that contract.

No horse involved?

If he wants to stay in England, I guess we're the best choice.  But I'm afraid Roma will be his next stop.

No problem with that. What's most critical is what role will he hold at the club, and if he remains as manager, possibly more importantly will be the support network he surrounds himself with. He needs to get in people he completely trusts and coaches he has shared success with.

Break the bank and go and get him now, before he is snapped up by another club.

Good manager, great contacts, knows the Premiership, decent bloke too...

The really odd thing about this, I was watching you're on Sly Sports when this broke and there was a load of Chelsea fans texting, emailing, calling in clamouring for MON to be their next manager.  Bizarre.

I would love Ancellotti here, can't see it but if we found out he was even vaguely interested in coming Randy should be making it happen.  Sorry Gez, but this would be THE step to move the Villa forward.  Maybe he could be retined upstairs.

Well, he may have won Serie A, Champions League, Premier League, the FA Cup, you name it, but David Moyes he ain't. :-)
