The only reason he's got 39 is because he wanted 9 and 9 (Ireland), 19 (Petrov), and 29 (Collins) were already taken. 

Given he's our record signing and Ireland will hopefully be racking up a psychiatrist bill for some other club next season I don't think there's any question about him getting the No. 9 shirt.

It was probably one of the bargaining tools used when he was telling everyone involved how he really, really didn't want to move to the Villa.

I still can't believe what a monumental cock up that signing has turned out to be.

Yep, give it to Darren Bent - although to refer to a bloke who's been at the club for the gestation period of a gerbil as a 'Legend' is a bit over the top
