A Sunday Scenario
« on: May 20, 2011, 12:03:37 AM »
if wigan lose 1-0 at stoke @17/2
if blackpool lose 2-0 at man utd @ 17/2
if birmingham lose 3-0 at tottenham @11/1

birmingham will be relegated @ 4/6

if all these things did happen
a 30p lucky 15 (outlay of £4.50) would win you around £1146

could this happen???

If theywere to all lose id expect wigan and blackpool to score at least one goal each

i chose that Scenario because all 3 teams would finnish on the same points (39) and the same goal differance (-23)

it would then go down too goals scored and bloose would go down with wigan as blackpool have scored more goals than the other two

I'll settle for a Wigan win at Stoke, Man City win at Bolton, and Albion to draw - then a win for us sees us finish a much more respectable 9th. I'd be happy at that even if Small Heath cling on for another season.

Don't know if I can explain this very well, but outcome 4 is a contingent outcome of 1, 2 and 3, so you you can't multiply the odds on 1,2,3 and 4. I don't think the bookie would pay out the full amount.

You can certainly have a multiple of 1,2 and 3, though.

Absolutely, more important to be top dogs in the region.  Anyway, once we got over Small Heath being relegated - if that is possible - we would start to miss the annual dogfights.

That's right. The bookies have a related contingency rule so you couldn't have the Noses to be relegated in that bet. For the same reason you also couldn't throw in a bet on their fans going on the rampage after the game or them going bust by Christmas!

Blues will lose 2-0
Blackpool will lose 2-0
Wigan will get a point at Stoke in a 1-1 draw.

Blues get relegated and we can have something to smile about at the end of a piss poor season.
