Quickbooks is horrible software, awful to use and even worse than Sage if such a thing is possible.

It is!

I imagine that it's come as something as a shock to the Villa finance department that there's such a thing as accounting software.

Dusts off the old manual nominal ledger that Deadly passed on to Randy!

You'd think for £1.5 m a year they'd pledge the space back to Acorns

It's 5m isn't it? Baggies were only getting 1.5m from them.

I'm sorry but thats not realistic.  It was all very well in the early altruistic days of Lerners largesse but the hard facts are we now need every penny of income we can get now the subsidies from Lerner have stopped.  I'm quite amused that they're willing to give us £1m a season more than the bitters down the road but my main concern is how much more it is than the Dafabet deal, thats the clincher.   If its more the new commecial guy is doing his job.

When are some fans going to get the message that increasing our income/turnover and keeping wages in line with that at a sustainable level is the only way we are going to compete on the pitch moving forwards. FFP gives us no room for manoevure on spending levels as any new owner can't just throw £100m at it as you're only allowed I think £35m of losses in a 3 season period.

£2.5m a season?

Is that someones educated guess or has that been confirmed? If so its pretty low compared to teams we would realistically compare us with isn't it, Everton, Spurs, Newcastle etc.

This site: http://www.statista.com/statistics/254580/aston-villa-revenue-from-kit-sponsorship/ shows our previous Dafabet deal being worth 5m a year, and the Mail's article on our new sponsorship here http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-announce-new-sponsor-9417906 states that it is worth more than the Dafabet deal, so must be a minimum of 5m per year if they are correct.

Apols if I've got that wrong, I thought it was £5m over 2 years rather than £5m per year. Tnaks for clarifying h87.

I hope the Mail are correct, would be pretty pathetic if it was 2.5m a year when apparently West Ham get 6m a year and we previously got 5m.

Unless I heard incorrectly at the Villa supporters trust meeting with Tom Fox he stated that we should be getting £10m per year for our
sponsorship. If that's the case this seems yet another piss poor amount from yet another relatively unknown company .

Maybe that why they want to buy some sponsorship then.

We also should be a top ten side. Until things like us finishing there start to happen it's difficult to get the sponsorship we should be.

They can easily afford to spend £10 million on us a season and not miss it.

Those nerds and their billions ah?
