The FA are gutless.  When West Ham did it, the rules on third party ownership were sketchy at best.  Now it is black and white.

They're being presented with the trophy after their last match and will be parading it around the ground.
Yes, it was approved by the FA.

but the crux of their argument is that when the transfer was made the rules weren't black and white, and the deal was cleared by both the football league and the fa.

the fa have dug their own hole here re: the timing. this should have been hammered out months ago.

and if they wern't that would also say a lot. At the end of the day regardless of the decision they are champions as they have been the best team over the season.... a decision from above can't change that only take away soem of those points they have won.

When West Ham did it it was just as black and white. They should have had a 20 point deduction Tevez and Mascherano should have been banned for a year and the clubs they were then playing for also deducted 10 points a piece. But we all know why that didn't happen, don't we?

If somebody like Cardiff misses out due to a smaller deduction could they sue a la Sheffield United and West Ham?

They would be well advised to keep quiet about the matter.

Seems crazy that teams in the same division are subject to different rules of different FA's

Maybe they'll have the deduction next season?

You can almost guarantee Ken Bates will be the first to kick up a shitstorm now he's sorted out the ownership issue at Leeds.

While we're on Leeds didn't Bates state under oath he didn't know who they're owners were? And then, whilst on the cusp of promotion play offs the owners decide to sell to Bates.

Please move away there's nothing to see here.

That's twice now that teams have blatantly broken the rules and only had a minimal fine compared to the prize money of the Premiership. What is to stop other teams doing that now?

The FA really are spineless ******.
