Bollocks - I'll be 15 then.

I'm not his biggest fan but he gives us something that will be difficult to replace. If his wage demands are sensible and he is willing to accept that he won't be an automatic starter then he is well worth keeping.

These comments almost seem like he hasn't had the interest he's wanted and that he is now actually looking to stay at Villa.

Maybe I'm stuck in the 90s but £30k seems a lot for someone who even those who want him to stay seem to want him to stay as a squad player.  £30k a week is £1.5m a year!!  For someone who will play a dozen times or so!

Sorry - I'd rather use the kids who are probably all on less than £10k a week.

16, as many have said, for the right money. But he wouldn't be first choice for me, our new defencive midfield general Viera clone will be, with NRC covering for him and cleaning his boots.

Amazingly he will reach 100 league apps for us if he plays today. Hard to believe better more famous Villans such as Ray Houghton and Garry Parker never broke the 100 game barrier.
