Would MK Dons count?

I suppose it does have MK in the name but technically are the team still classed as being from Wimbledon?

Ooh I like this game, could even take it global as I was thinking yesterday during the Champions league game is Schalke a German City/town?

Schalke is an area in the city of Gelsenkirchen. No idea if they play there anymore but I don't think their 'base', the Veltins Arena, is based there. But if you look at their badge you'll notice it's a combined S/G for the area and the city.
Aaaagh thanks for that, I always enjoy finding out facts like that about teams and places, im a nerd like that.

They do still play there. The Veltins Arena's about 10-15 mins on the tram from the city centre.

Everton ?

Is a place in Liverpool.

Arsenal?

There's a tube station called Arsenal now. Named after the club... but you still could argue it's a place if you wanted to be a pedant (like me!)

Albion Rovers?

Albion means Britain. Britain is a place.

Queens Park Rangers.

There is a place called Queen's Park in London, but they're not named after it... they're named after the Scottish club. So fair enough.

Foreign teams are easier...

Bolivar
The Strongest
Hearts of Oak
Vasco Da Gama
Corinthians
Internazionale
Independiente
Crvena Zvedza (Red Star)
Destroyers

many of these I remember from playing "Sensible World of Soccer" as a yoof.

Well Chelsea actually play in Fulham and Fulham play in Putney (although the H&S borough) if the thread was to include teams that don't play where there name is then those 2 could be in it.  Come to think of it, so would we if we'd stayed in Perry Barr.

Orient did away with the 'Leyton' bit for a few years I think.

Corinthians? Hearts(I guess mid-Lothian's a place but they weren't named after it I don't think)?

Perennial Scottish whipping boys - East Stirling.

Originally from Falkirk and now play their games in the town of Stenhousemuir.

Celtic
Rangers

They're actual names are Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic so don't count.
