I'm just concerned that the club would (if true) lie to us like this.

My only question is, if he was released in January, why did'nt the club announce that he had left?

To paraphrase the general; Clampy:  Honestly, I am not sure what value would come from discussing Randy's player moves.  It certainly is not something that affects the Club.

John Carew, Carew.
Has the sale gone through, gone through?
Does he belong to us or you?
John Carew, Carew.

@MatKendrick Mat Kendrick 12.21am
What a strange old life this is. Sat in Kiddy Harriers car park trying to get to the bottom of a row between #avfc and #scfc over John Carew

@MatKendrick Mat Kendrick 12-25am
#avfc saying one thing, #scfc saying another. Don't shoot the messenger! I don't think he'll play. Villa are adamant he's NOT ALLOWED to.

you can not make it up can you FFS

Well, Pulis says Big John has a great sense of humour, so maybe JC told him that we had cancelled his contract for shits and giggles.

Hands up anyone who would be surprised if Carew goes down with a mystery ailment overnight?

pullis probably wants to rest a few players before his cup final. bottom line is if he's on loan then they can't play him, if they took over Carew's contract like Sidwell then they can, as they own his contract.

Carew will be on the bench...
in the Rocket Club.

I very much doubt he'll play this afternoon.

Take three points off Stoke and they're right in the relegation battle. If I were Tony Pullis there's no way I'd risk a player who might be ineligible, no matter how slight the chance is.

Don't clubs have to register their squad and eligibility of players ( e.g. age, home-grown or 'foreign' etc) with the FA, and keep this info up to date?  In which case, even if a fax or a 'loan contract' or whatever has gone astray at either club, the FA would know whether JC was ours (but loaned out) or Stoke's.

Keep expecting to see 'April 1' at the top of this thread.

and if the only thing preventing him from playing was a gentleman's agreement, Tony Pullis would probably be tempted to break it for exactly the same reasons.
