Radio WM phone-in (again)
« on: April 15, 2011, 09:02:36 PM »
Because I'm bored and a bit of a masochist here are tonight's nuggets of gold from Dennis (supposedly Villa caller) on tonight's WM phone-in:

"What do they want to sell Ashley Young for?"
"You tell me!"
"Why don't they sell Bent and Downing and have done with it?"
"In what way?"
"So Lerner can pocket all the money, like he has done in the past"
"You have to take into equation that the player might not want to stay"
"Of course he does..."
"What are you trying to tell me?"
"He's [Lerner] running the club down"
"He spent 30 million in January!"

"Listen, you got to take the equation that maybe he might be looking two or three years down the line; he may have a lot of faith in Gérard Houllier. It might be misplaced..."
"Yeah well, faith doesn't get you anywhere." "How many players we got playing for England? Capello can get them to play..." "It time to sack the coaches. The coaches can't get down to the players but Capello can..."
"The coaches haven't got down to the players all season"
"OK... so you want to get rid of the lot of them?"
"Yes."
"OK. And bring who in?"
"Well, that's down to the manager, the board." "Those are the ones that are paid to do that job..."
"You can't just say sack everybody! There'll be nobody in at Villa Park!
"Well they'll do well in the next league..."

I would suggest it was Rob Yates but he doesn't mention "the Yank Doug Ellis".

Was Lee the Baggie on tonight? That bloke will have a heart attack the way he's going. He doesn't stop for breath when he's in full rant mode.

I was listening to Talksport a while back, a Chelsea fan rang in and said "this isn't the Chelsea way and if they don't sort it out I'll be back down the cottage supporting Fulham"

What an clueless, glory hunting idiot.

Some people are unbeleivable when they phone into radio stations.

Maybe it was a fire engine ringing in?
It sounded about that level of intelligence.
