Parking at West Ham
« on: April 15, 2011, 11:42:38 AM »
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where it's best to park for the West Ham game tomorrow?

We've never been by car before so any help would be appreciated. Looking on the Internet I have seen a few reommendations for Newham General Hospital, has anyone else parked here?

I did look in the away guide section but there's nothing on parking.

Any help would be much appreciated - thanks!

Parking is atrocious as its all permit only by the ground
Tesco is a good bet but its a 30 minute walk down Newham High St, but you miss a lot of traffic after the game when its gridlock by the ground

This sounds like a good option. Thanks.

The best place to park for a West Ham trip is at your local train station. Or, drive to a logical train or tube station or bus stop and then use public transport to the ground. How about Stanmore, just off the M1, Jubilee Line to West Ham, change for two stop to Upton Park - about an hour on the tubes?

Theres a Sainsburys at East Ham too where you can park but I've always preferred the longer walk back to Tesco as then you miss a lot of the traffic. It is a good 30 minute walk mind, which feels like 5 mins if we've won or 3 days if we've lost to a Marlon Harewood hatrick

There will be lots of free parking at Junction 4 on the M1.It's only a short walk to the ground.

If the district line is knackered, can you do anything with the DLR? Or drive to somewhere tubeable from another line?
