Am I missing something or this a thread to say that season tickets for next season will go on sale before next season but we don't know how much they'll be yet?  If so then I'm struggling to see the point in both the thread and the announcement on the OS to be honest.

I don't see how they can go on sale before the end of the season without the current confusion as to which division we'll be playing in.

And that was my exact thought - I scoured the OS , I clicked on page after page thinking "well the price must be here somewhere" - only to find they said "tickets will go on sale in May" - well the expression "No shit sherlock" comes to mind.

What will tomorrows little gem be "Next season will start in August !"

It's the club's way of forewarning us – a little reminder in case we are tempted to treat the family to a holiday rather than donate our cash to the poor struggling Premier League players' fund.

If we all renew within three weeks we can help keep the local Porsche dealer in business.

After this season's disgraceful FA Cup withdrawal I'm expecting free entry to all cup games as part of the season ticket price next season... and even then I might just send along my shadow.

They could try improving the commercial revenue side of things.

Exactly.
My Mate rang me the other night and said
'If we get relegated, they'd better reduce the prices.'
I relplied that they'll put them up, not reduce them.

In the current climate any club increasing prices again next season is taking the piss - they really should be looking at reductions. Supporters on the whole are enduring frozen or reduced incomes - and a much reduced margin of disposable income due to a number of factors of which we have no choice.
A football season ticket is something we do have a choice over.
Greedy Premier League clubs will surely have to look at other ways of increasing income - or better still, reducing their outgoings.
Cuts have to be made in the wage bills of their playing staff, no ifs, not buts, no alternative.

Even IF we stay up, I can see a lot of season ticket holders not renewing.

I expect the prices will increase again, not massively, but still an increase, regardless of the league we are in. They have gradually inreased every year for the past 6-7 years if memory serves me correctly, although that may just be my outlay (differing seats etc). I wont be renewing unless something changes financially for me, I just cant afford it. If I could, I would buy one no matter what league we are in. Its just something you do.

I can see why you would put them on sale before the season ends,  if you offer a discount for purchasing them early.

Other clubs do this already, Wolves and Coventry for example

With all that is going on in the economy and the concern that is causing many fans would like to know now what the cost is going to be, as this would help in planning finances

Not many Championship teams on that list!

I reckon they're holding off announcing because they will put the prices up if we stay up and keep them static if we go down.  If they announce increases first and then we go down it'll be a PR disaster to rival anything Le Gaffeur says!
